Black Box (2013)

BlackBox. Ein schwarzer, massiver Würfel mit glatter Oberfläche und einem USB-Slot. BesucherInnen spenden mit ihren USB Sticks ihre eigene individuelle Datei an BlackBox und erhalten im Gegenzug dazu eine bereits im Vorfeld gespendete Datei zurück. Der Austausch findet zeitlich (vom jeweiligen Zeitpunkt der Dateneingabe) und räumlich (vom jeweiligen Standort von BlackBox) losgelöst voneinander statt. Periodisch wird die Datenlandschaft von BlackBox zudem ausgespielt und in Form einer real begehbaren Ausstellung sichtbar gemacht. BesucherInnen erhalten dadurch die Möglichkeit, in einer Datenwelt zu interagieren, die ihnen normalerweise verschlossen bleibt.
Installation / Digital Art
BlackBox. A black, solid cube made of 1.5 mm black plate with a USB port. Visitors connect their own USB sticks and donate an individual file to BlackBox. In return, they receive a previously donated file. The exchange occurs at random and is unrelated in both time and space.
Periodically, the wealth of data donated to BlackBox will be made into a spatial installation, a walk-in exhibition putting the collected data on display. This provides visitors with the opportunity to interact with the world of data in a way which is usually beyond their reach.
